West Winds Restaurant in Green River

I liked the ambiance of this place, out in the desert. Food is good, and came quickly. They have a children’s menu, and a host of quarter machines with toys inside. My child made out like a bandit.

Down Home comfort food with the most friendly and attentive servers I've seen in a long time. I was offered refills of hot water for my tea, which never happens elsewhere while coffee drinkers get frequent warm ups everywhere!I can't believe I finished a 1/2# burger! There's quite a selection of burgers that are cooked just right as well as a variety of other menu selections.A plus for travelers - they're open until 10 pm.

Traveling on Thanksgiving is almost a guarantee most places will be closed for the holiday, as they should be. But we are so grateful West Winds was open to fill our hunger and provide an excellent meal and great service. Lisa did an amazing job serving us and indulged our strange request. (Turkey gravy on their awesome French fries is a must!) Thanks for the hospitality!

No chicken. But couldn’t bother to tell the wait staff till after it was ordered. Knew I shouldn’t have stopped.

Great service. Had green Chile burger, it was delicious. Green Chile pork is amazing as well if you like spicy and tasty food

Okay food. Staff is friendly and personable, but doesn't seem to be exactly focused on doing their job well, and that fact isn't really well hidden. But they're nice, and if you're not in a hurry, it's just not a big deal!Several slips on COVID protocol, but the initial attempt is in place.

I really enjoyed myself at this hidden jewel. The food was great and service as well. I will return when passing thru!

I like food thats served HOT!! My food was barely warm! The only thing that saved my plate was the GREEN CHILI they have here....New Mexico Hatch Chili!! Delicious!!!

This restaurant always serves up good groceries! Right now I'm having the breakfast burrito covered in red sauce and I ordered a bowl of green chili pork stew which I also put on the burrito. My Gawd! Bombdilleyishious. The place is very clean and waitresses very friendly. Malina is very outgoing and very cute.

Worse place to eat. Place has 1/2 of the total allowed and still slow on getting orders out. I ask for sweet tea and you can't even taste the tea. Then I sit there for over an hour to find out from the waitress she never put my order in. So I walked out and told her to cancel the order.

Our family was stranded overnight in Green River due to a mechanical issue. We weren’t overly impressed with the outside of the West Winds restaurant but so glad we gave it a chance! The service was great and the food was excellent! We even came back for breakfast! They have a large variety of menu items to choose from and everything was delicious. Highly recommend the scones!

We arrived at the restaurant at around 8:15 p.m., looking forward to a good meal.....based on others reviews. As others have said, the restaurant looks rather dated. Upon walking in, we were pleasantly surprised.....until we were informed that no other customers were being seated as the cashier had walked out that evening and the waitress was by herself. It would have been nice if we had at least been given the option of placing a takeout order, but that only happened after another customer requested it.

Pickle fries are the best!!! Shoestring pickles in a cornmeal based coating then deep fried to crunchy goodness!

I Just happened to find this Pilot to pull over for my overnight break. Looked at the reviews and figured I'd give it a try. Am I glad I did!! Great food! Great service! My Porterhouse steak was cooked to perfection!! I will definitely have to come back here again!! Thank you for your hospitality and great food!

My husband and I are truck drivers and we get to go to all kinds of places so we stopped here and just had an amazing late lunch early diner and all I can say is WOW! Best place we’ve ate at in a LONG TIME! Chelsea was a very sweet waitress and the food was outstanding. Highly recommend the chicken fried steak and sunrise burger. The brown butter cake and chocolate lava were out of this world great. Overall great expierence and atmosphere. Can’t wait to come again. Thank you for being great.

Straight up scam! It costs extra for take out, during a time of social distancing they decide to cash in on a pandemic, what sick people!

A small group of us on a motorcycle trip stopped over for the night in Green River and ate breakfast at West Winds Restaurant. The restaurant is dated and could use some upgrades if you’re into that kind of stuff, BUT, it was clean. The staff was very friendly and we were waited on promptly. The food came out quickly and hot. Eggs, hash browns, toast, biscuits and the fixins were all great. Coffee was fresh and hot. I highly recommend West Winds for a great start to your day and a great breakfast.

This place is the hidden gem on the road. VERY wonderful food. I had the spaghetti and it was fabulous. Nice staff. GREAT PLACE....

Friendly male employee and wonderful female manager who was my husband and I's server. We really appreciate the nice attitude about my Service Dog Maple. The only the issue I have is that the bottom of the hard shell for my 3 race's tacos tasted weird. Also, the food could have been a little warmer. Other than that the food was wonderful.

This place is delicious! I had Chicken Enchilada Soup, a Navajo Taco and Brown Butter cake. The soup was well balanced, just enough spice. The Navajo taco had a large portion of seasoned beef and a good amount of fresh lettuce on top. It comes with a side of pico which was great. Brown Butter Cake is amazing, my server Donna highly recommended it. This place is very clean, the hostess was very cheerful and energetic. Donna gave me exquisite service, she made me feel very welcome and was more then happy to give recommendations. I will most definitely be back!

Glad we stopped by! Awesome hidden gem. They've done a nice job of closing off every other booth to make sure you're comfortable with the spacing between groups eating. All of the staff was VERY friendly and attentive. The food was good, generous portions and well priced. We tried the tacos and burritos, have no complaints and left with food leftover for later.*bonus* they had SUPER clean restrooms, which I always appreciate when on the road

Lisa's service was wonderful. She was extremely attentive to our needs. She was sweet and fun. The food wasn't bad. It's was pretty tasty.

There are a lot of hidden gems on the open road. A lot of places that you're regular traveling folk don't know about because they're just enough off the beaten path.For years I've heard about the West Wind restaurant near the pilot truck stop in Green River Utah but until the day I have not taking the opportunity to enjoy this wonderful establishment.The food was fantastic. I don't eat meat and they made adjustments to my order to compensate. And they were happy to do so without being irritated buy a special order.The service was friendly from start to finish. And not just friendly but kind. And that takes customer service to a whole different level when you can tell they actually care.Cleanliness, seating, ambiance, and even the souvenirs, the whole experience was definitely worth the visit. I strongly recommend for anyone traveling on the i-70 to or from Colorado the slide into Green River Utah and give West Winds restaurant I'll try.You will not be disappointed.

Great place to eat, I was surprised by how friendly the staff is. I had a chili burger with an extra patty and cherry pie a la mode. It was great. So happy I got to stop for a minute.

I only eat breakfast because their breakfast burrito with green sauce is incredible. Barb the server that I request is great. Good small town atmosphere. People are nice and very friendly in the morning.

I was expecting a truck stop diner and I got some of the best food and service I've ever had! I ordered the navajo fry bread with the green chili pork over it and I'm still dreaming of that meal. I really liked the open and bright interior, with it's kind of kitchy charm. To top it all off, our waitress was perfectly attentive and helpful. This is a great little place to pull off i70 to eat on your way.

This is coming from someone who eats out from at a lot of different places in a lot of different regions of the country the food is not nasty but for what you're going to pay it's not worth it. The chicken fried chicken is equivalent to a Patty from Jack In The Box for a dollar and they're charging 13.99 for that I'll pass never again.

Food was good, little expensive but not terrible. We had breakfast and the biscuits and gravy were excellent.

Wish they put the ingredients for what you order on their menu. I was going to get a spicy chicken sandwich and it was a covered buffalo sauce with cheese sandwich.That's not a spicy sandwich that's a hot sandwich. The waiters are nice and I left tip but the food is not great.

It took awhile to have our order taken. Bit once our food arrived it was AMAZING.

Let me start by saying that I have no idea how this place has gotten anything less than a 5 star review. The food here was AMAZING!! We started out with the chips and salsa and the salsa tasted homemade, it was awesome! I had the Navajo taco and it was seasoned perfect and just plain delicious. My wife had the garlic burger and she said that it was outstanding. The wait staff were super polite and really on the ball. The restaurant was really clean and so were the restrooms! Really good place to eat! We will definitely be back tomorrow for dinner and every other time we happen to come thru this area. Keep up the great work yall!

I can highly recommend West Winds. It is a classical diner, not comparable to Denny’s or IHOP. Give it a chance if you are in Green River for a night!

Not your run-of-the-mill truck stop diner. Don’t let the outside looks fool you – this is a gem.Tired of over-priced average food? Give this place a try. Second visit to this restaurant and my 2nd excellent experience.Breakfast of bacon, eggs, hash-browns, toast and coffee will set you back about $13, which is pretty reasonable these days. The food was excellent and in a generous proportion. Even the presentation had effort put into it – which was nice to see. Wait staff were attentive without hovering and my coffee cup was always topped off. Staff is friendly and cheerful.

We blew a tire, sourh of Moab, the tire tread fell off of my tire. West winds truck stop was the only place open for 250 miles in any direction. They had my tire size and were waiting for me to roll in on my doughnut spare. Fixed me up in 20 minutes. Great service, great price. I will always a stop in for gas, a burger, or a tire if needed. Just to make sure they stay in business for the next guy. Trully a great place. I wish more places were like this. Skip Moab, especially since they are closed due to Covid-19. Stop into West Wind truck stop and help a company survive this time of economic turmonal . We need more places like this. Thanks for your service.

Had the porterhouse with baked potato, Texas toast and I subbed out my veggies for pickle fries, there spin on deep fried pickle chips, and I got a trip to the salad "wagon". The pickle fries were a little over salted for my taste but did not stop me from gorging myself, steak was cooked to my liking but you need a real knife not the dull child safe one, had to hacksaw it, steak was thick so it was a bit difficult, potato was undercooked. The service was good, the only complaint I really have is that I was up charged $4.49 for the pickle fries, I was expecting to pay a little more for the substitution, not that much though, if that been communicated up front I may have gone another route but I'm not going to cry I did get a discount for having a cdl so the upcharge was nearly washed out. I would say this ranks as one of the top 2 places I have eaten at when it comes to truck stop eating.

What else can you say but great food and friendly staff.

Wonderful service provided by the waitress, young female with long dirty blonde semi curly hair. She was great! The food was amazing!! The area is pretty quiet, loved it!! We will be coming back! Thank you for an amazing experience! And a full tummy.

Really good food with really good service. A beautiful change from your regular truck stop dive this stop just made my short list of favorites. Thank you. I’ll definitely make it a point to stop back.

Delicious! Mac and Cheese Bacon Burger was YUM!! Great fries and onion rings! Kids enjoyed it but said their chicken tenders had no flavor and were dry. Nice ending to our long day on the road. Would definitely come again if in the area.

A burger pattie breakfast without garlic seasoning and with all its natural fat pressed out should not cost $13.95. We didn't get a discount for no hasbrowns.

I rearrange my driving days in order to be able to stop here. I park at the Pilot and walk over. Their burger is one of the best I've ever had.

I'm a truck driver and pass threw often atleast once a week,I have had a terrible experience the last 3 times, I finally told the young man behind the register i will never return.

Very friendly staff and the food was delicious! I had a Porterhouse Steak, salad and a cup of New England clam chowder. CDL holders get a discount. Will definitely stop in again. Glad to be able to sit at a table during this pandemic. Thanks again!

Cashier at front was not personable. Not friendly, just going through the motions. She is the first point of contact, should be better. 09/23 @ 11:15. Ordered omelet did not want potatoes or bread (was offered no alternative). Food was good and Comercial Drivers get a discount if you mention it before they run your card. That was my fault but she showed no care. Just nope it's too late. Hope the place is better next time, everyone gets a second chance.
